Meet Donald Quack.
The mad would-be King couldn't be quiet this weekend. He quacked this.
As you may know, it is illegal for a presidential campaign to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or a donation from a foreign citizen, and here we have Trump saying at least the 3 people from his campaign who were in the meeting were involved in soliciting information they believed to be of value from Russians.
You may also remember some previous White House lies about the substance of the Trump Tower meeting as well. In specific, in July 2017, Trump and Trump, Jr. both claimed that the meeting was about "adoptions." In fact, Don Jr said as much in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, and in a written statement that Trump Lawyers ultimately acknowledged Don Sr had dictated.
Trump's Tweet yesterday shot all those adoption claims to hell, and left the Don's “wonderful son" open to charges of perjury as well as “high crimes and misdemeanors" or as we might call it, treason. Will his father testify?
As Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post wrote yesterday: “President Trump is a lawyer's client from hell. He lacks self-control, cannot tell the truth and will not absorb legal advice he doesn't like. Most clients don't incriminate themselves in public. Again and again. Trump does, however."
She continues: “Trump fails to understand that the very meeting he is acknowledging is collusion — or conspiracy, if you will — to break campaign-finance laws. Insisting that it is legal to get dirt from a foreign national is politically and morally offensive..."
One more matter - Trump's quack that he “ knew nothing about it."
Well, shall we see about that? You may recall that recently (July 27, 2018) information was leaked to CNN that Trump's consigliere Michael Cohen indicated that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower. The sources said, Cohen was willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller.
Will Trump soon sing another cacophonous self-incriminating tune?
Little birdies who can't hold back what they know Tweet, and in this Trump case, quack.
Specifically, with regard to his August 5th Tweet, keep this in mind: If it quacks like a duck, it is a duck. If it quacks like a traitor, it is a ....
Treason. Obstruction of Justice. So much for Mueller to feed on from this Quack.

Post Script. As Adam Davidson asked in yesterday's New Yorker, What do we do when a President has openly admitted to attempted collusion, lying, and a coverup? Ask your elected officials!
And one more issue too. Keep in mind that Don Jr had dinner with indicted Russian spy Maria Butina and her handler Alexander Torshin at an NRA event in May 2016, just a few weeks before the June 9th Trump Tower meeting. We will learn more about this too, in time.
