Earlier this week, a man, persuaded by fake news created and spread by Lt. General Miie Flynn (Trump's choice to head the NSA), his son and other Trump supporters, traveled to Comet Ping Pong, a pizza restaurant in Washington D.C. and fired an assault rifle. Trump supporters' fake news had convinced him Comet Ping Pong was holding children as sex slaves. David Brock, one of Hillary's supporters, once dated one of the shop's owners.
Following this madness, now dubbed PizzaGate, the owners of the pizzeria have now launched a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to raise $28,000 to pay for the security that was put in place and the employees' lost wages.
The campaign's description reads:
Comet Ping Pong is so grateful for the incredible love and compassion that has been directed toward us and our community. We are grateful for the support of our dedicated customers who have come to visit with us these past few days. Many friends – including those who live in other places, have asked how they can support us and our staff -besides drinking and eating pizza with us! And as a result of recent stories and events, we realize we could use support. We have been hit with immediate expenses that do not fit into our usual small restaurant model."
Funds from the campaign will also go towards physical damage that occurred during the incident.
Employees at Roberta's, the hip East Williamsburg-Bushwick pizzeria, have also received death threats tied to PizzaGate.. Fake word spread online that Roberta's was somehow involved with Comet Ping Pong in this same child abuse ring, which, of course, didn't exist. Here is a sample of the phone threats Roberta employees received- "You are going to bleed and be tortured." Bill and Hillary Clinton once ate at Roberta's.
On December 8" Hillary Clinton spoke on the spread of fake news. She did not mention "Pizzagate" but her comments appeared to reference this: "Fake news," which has "flooded social media over the past year" is a trend that "can have real world consequence. "This is not about politics or partisanship. Lives are at risk, lives of ordinary people just trying to go about their days to do their jobs, contribute to their communities. It is a danger that must be addressed and addressed quickly."

Addendum, the New York Times published an article yesterday that Foes of Russia Say Child Pornography Is Planted to Ruin Them. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/09/world/europe/vla...
This story strangely resonated with us in connect with PizzaGate. The tactic described in the Russian story seems strangely like the fake story the Trump campaign and its supporters created about Hillary as the supposed head of a ring sexually abusing children. This story led to the violence and threats above.
Did the Russians teach their Breitbart-Trump team this strategy? how to use fake stories connected to sexual abuse of children against your political opponents? Who would think to conjure up such crazy stories? Seems it is a Russian trick.
Also, in case you wondered - No word from Melania Trump (who once claimed Cyber-Bullying would be her cause) on these results of her husband campaign's Cyber-Bullying! Maybe she is saving her comments for Trump himself?His tweets against Chuck Jones, head of the Steelworkers Union at the Carrier plant inspired death threats against the man.
