We are calling again on the healthcare bill tomorrow because it is urgent. This vote tally is much closer than the last time they tried it.
Paul Ryan is relying on the fact that too few citizens are paying attention and the GOP leadership is hoping to ram this through before the broader public realizes it - and before the lawmakers go back home and have to face the public. We know that when we show up and we make our voices heard, we win.
Our goal is to stop this in its tracks by locking in 22 no votes.
Plan B is to make enough noise to slow this down because the longer the debate goes, the more people will pay attention. If we can at least prevent the moderate GOP members from saying yes right away, we can keep this debate going long enough for enough people to realize what is happening and join in to protect healthcare for all of us.
Everybody has or will have a pre-existing condition - which in the days before the Affordable Care Act could be defined as simply as having had acne at some point in your life without disclosing it to your insurance company. Not going back!
We will have a different "script" for calls to Dems / calls to GOP offices who are in favor of this bill / calls to GOP who have said they are against the bill or are undecided so look out for that.
Especially if you live in one of the districts below, please make a plan today to find the time to call tomorrow. And please recruit your friends because we need everyone to rally.
